TVGMS Field trip Ant Hill 4-23-11
We left bright and early 8 AM Saturday and made our way to the hillside over looking
the soccer field, the instructions said we would.
Trudging up the hillside looking for the dig site was quite difficult. The overgrowth was
quite thick, making the identification of our old dig site a bit tough.
Chuck saved the day, finding the old dig site, Rick and he had worked some time
ago. The rains had moved a great deal of overburden down the hill and caused some
serious digging. The crew was up for the challenge, and we moved some serious dirt.
We found a few sharks teeth and more fossils, bones, vertebra, grinding plates, and
other bone like material, all in all the day was considered a total success.
We are all willing and anxious to return and dig more for the treasure buried beneath
!!!
We are now considered GOFERS and sifters of the first order, what a great day.
Can’t wait to do it again.
